THE NBA IS BACK!

Covering The First Week of NBA Basketball

THE NBA IS BACK!

it’s about time we have the return of the NBA. Now we are in the perfect time of the year where there is basketball and football at the same time. Oh yeah, baseball is going on too but we talked about that here at the Dual Sport Report. A lot of games in the NBA season, a ton more than the NFL season. Can’t say that we are gonna cover every game played and every players performances, but we are gonna try our best to give you the best information and highlights of each week of the NBA. With that explaining out of the way let’s get into how the first week of the NBA is going!

Jokic or Luka for MVP?

Now this is obviously very early talk for MVP talk because we are literally one game into the season, but both of these guys are currently the best players in the world.

Nikola Jokic showed why he is the best against the Los Angeles Lakers, putting up a stellar performance. He recorded a triple-double with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, playing a pivotal role in the Denver Nuggets' 119-107 victory over the Lakers.

Dončić led all scorers with 33 points. He secured a triple-double with 13 rebounds and 10 assists. And made a 3 pointer towards the end of the game to put the Spurs out of reach after being down most of the game. And got a good first win beating the Spurs 126-119.

It is obviously very early in the season and these guys still have 81 more games to prove themselves. However, in their first game back they looked like the best players in the league.

Notable Performances this Week

Harrison Barnes - 33 points

  • Harrison Barnes had a standout performance in the Sacramento Kings' season opener against the Utah Jazz. He scored a remarkable 33 points, with an impressive 27 of those points coming in the first half. Barnes was highly efficient, hitting 10 of 11 shots, including all five of his 3-point attempts, in the opening half. The Kings secured a victory with a score of 130-114 over the Jazz, largely propelled by Barnes' dominant play.

Max Strus - 27 points, 12 rebounds

  • Max Strus had a sensational debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his first game, he showcased his sharpshooting skills by making seven threes, setting a record for the most threes by a player debuting for a new team. Strus finished the game with 27 points, with 21 of those points coming from beyond the arc. Additionally, he contributed defensively with key stops and recorded a total of 12 rebounds, marking his third career double-double.

Cam Thomas - 36 points, 3 rebounds, 2 Assists

  • I think everybody is always wondering when the Nets are gonna start giving this man more minutes, but hopefully after their first game they finally will. Cam Thomas scored an impressive 36 points, hitting 13 of his first 20 shots. Despite his outstanding individual performance, the Nets narrowly lost the game with a score of 114-113. Thomas' final shot attempt in the closing moments of the game came up short, which was one of the few mistakes he made during the match.

Thursday Night Football

Buffalo Bills 24, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 18

  • The Buffalo Bills secured a victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a final score of 24-18. The game was held at Highmark Stadium and was closely contested until the end. The Bills managed to hold off the Buccaneers as Baker Mayfield's last-second Hail Mary attempt for Tampa Bay fell incomplete. Josh Allen had a commendable performance, completing 31 of 40 passes for 324 yards, throwing two touchdowns and one interception. The game was intense, with both teams showcasing their strengths, but the Bills emerged victorious in the end.
